The Radian competition is normally run over 3 x 7 minute rounds. The planes are equipped with an altimeter that cuts the motor off at 200 meters or 30 seconds, which ever comes first. Contestants try and achieve a 7 minute flight from the time the plane leaves the launch site. Points are given for the closer the flight is to the 7 minute time and also given for how close to the landing zone the plane lands.
