Palmerston North Aeroneers

2 metre glider competition is held on the first Sunday of every month. The competition starts at 9 am and usually runs over 3 rounds. The gliders do not have motors so are therefore launched with a bungee cord that is 130 metres long. Gliders are launched to a height of around 200 metre and a set time duration is ttried to be achieved. Points are given for times that are closest to the target time and points can also be obtained for landing within a designated area. Points are tallied on the day to give placings and are also collated during the year to give annual placings. All other flying is avaiable and welcomed at the field on the day until 6pm.
